Nightshift Legacy: The Jaguar’s Eye Review

In recent years a new genre of puzzler, namely hidden object games, has become very popular. The latest online hidden object game from BigFishGames.com, Nightshift Legacy: The Jaguar’s Eye, sequel to 2007’s The Nightshift Code, has the main characters Mike and Isabel traveling the globe in search for the mystical Jaguar’s Eye, an artifact of untold power.

The two heroes Mike, a night-watchman at a museum and Isabel, a professional cat burglar are two treasure hunters that travel from country to country in search of stolen artefacts. In Jaguar’s Eye these two travel from the South American jungles to Barcelona to Moscow all in search of the mystical object. The story is advanced and the characters introduced through comic book scenes.

The game play is classic hidden object game, with some great mini-games mixed in. The player is presented with a busy scene and asked to find “hidden objects” around the scene, thus the name hidden objects games. To “collect” an item the player simply clicks on it and if you’re really struggling you can always click on the hint button (don’t feel bad, everyone uses it).

The objects are sometimes a bit distorted and in some cases hard to find because of this. Level’s are also repeated which causes the game to lose some of its excitement.

Then there are the mini-games. Probably the best part of the game, the mini-games have you deciphering an ancient document to arranging old photo’s and so on. As with the normal levels you can also use a hint if you’re stuck.

In conclusion, Nightshift Legacy: Jaguar’s Eye is a great example of the Hidden Object Game genre. It also has a decent story and some great mini-games. Overall a great online hidden object game game.

Pros: Fun, enthralling online hidden object game game with a decent story. Challenging mini-games.
Cons: Confusing objects. Levels repeatedly used.
