Online hidden object games are one of the newest and most addictive genres of online puzzle games. Simple in concept, in each level you are given a list of objects to find, and a screen full of pictures. The objects you need to find are usually cleverly disguised, or hidden in plain sight. You may search for quite some time for a certain object, only to suddenly see it sitting right in front of you.

Because an example is always better than words, I have made a step-by-step tutorial on how to play these online hidden object games. So let’s start:

Step 1: Choose the online hidden object game

The first step in playing online hidden object games is to find a fun hidden object game to play! There are LOTS of online hidden object games to choose from, but luckily for you, this is YOUR tutorial and I have gone and selected a great one: Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst from BigFishGames.com

Go ahead and click the link, the browser should open in a new page so that you can follow along.

Step 2: Ensure that you have all the requirements to play hidden object games online:

Ensure that you have all of the required plug-ins installed. The only requirement for Ravenhearst is that you use Internet Explorer to open it. This is the default web browser that comes with Microsoft Windows. If you are not already using Internet Explorer, you can open it by clicking the Start button, selecting the All Programs option and then selecting the Internet Explorer button. Step 3: Start playing your chosen hidden object game

By now the game should have loaded, and you should be presented with a screen that looks like this:

Step 4: Ok, now start playing

After a quick loading screen, you should be presented with the following screen:

Your next option is very easy, just click on the start board (see the screenshot).This will take you to the first level.

Step 5: Find the hidden objects!

Read the helpful hint, and click the OK button to start playing! Your basic goal is to find the items on the right-hand list in the picture on-screen. This is not as easy as it sounds, as some of the objects are very cleverly hidden. The items that you have to find are:

• Level
• Spigot
• Shovel
• Axe
• Service bell
• Spear
• Vice grips

Some helpful tips to playing online hidden object games:
